Sonos puts Microsoft chief product officer on board of directors
Smart speaker specialist Sonos has appointed Microsoft’s chief product officer Panos Panay to its board of directors, effective12 August, citing his background in developing tightly-integrated hardware and software platforms, and his track record of innovation in product design and development. 

Panay has been the chief product officer at Microsoft since April 2018. Before that, he held other roles at the company, including corporate VP for Microsoft Devices, corporate VP for Surface & PC Hardware and GM for Surface & PC Hardware. 

The new board member joins recent appointees Deirdre Findlay, chief marketing officer of Conde Nast, and Joanna Coles, former chief content officer of Hearst Magazines, both appointed on 27 February.
