Sony drops own music service in favour of Spotify

Sony announced plans to close its streaming music service and offer Spotify instead. The services Video Unlimited and Music Unlimited on the Sony Entertainment Network will become part of the PlayStation Network and re-branded as PlayStation Video (PS Video) and PlayStation Music (PS Music) respectively. Sony announced an agreement for Spotify to power PlayStation Music, and the new service will roll out in 41 markets, initially for PlayStation consoles and Xperia smartphones and tablets.
