Sony PlayStation Vue adds a la carte channels, more markets
Sony is expanding its PlayStation Vue TV service to new markets and adding a la carte channel options. The multi-channel package is now available in the Greater Los Angeles and San Francisco Bay areas, following the introduction of the service in three cities in March. Sony said more cities will follow later this year. 

PlayStation Vue will also begin offering consumers the option to subscribe to individual channels through its a-la-carte offerings for PS4 and PS3 owners in the US. The first such channels available are Showtime (USD 10.99), Fox Soccer Plus (USD 14.99) and a new, exclusive service from gaming network Machinima (USD 3.99). The channels will be offered at reduced prices for PlayStation Plus subscribers, and all three come wit a free trial period. 

PlayStation Vue in the Los Angeles and San Francisco markets will offer users up to 85 channels per market through three subscription packages (Access, Core, or Elite) that cost from USD 49.99 to USD 69.99 per month with no long-term commitment. Customers can subscribe to the a-la-carte channels without taking a multi-channel subscription.

Sony Network Entertainment International (SNEI) has expanded its PlayStation Vue OTT TV service to another 203 TV designated market areas (DMAs) to cover the whole US. Channels such as AMC, Disney and EPSN offer live and on-demand content, while programming from ABC, Fox and NBC is available only on-demand, with most become available within 24 hours. Disney and ESPN content to be available on PlayStation Vue

Disney and ESPN Media Networks has reached an agreement with Sony Network Entertainment International to bring its media networks to Sony's PlayStation Vue cloud-based live TV service for PlayStation consoles and iOS devices. Disney and ESPN channels whose content will be made available include ABC-owned local stations, ABC Family, Disney Channel, Disney Junior and a dozen channels from ESPN. Sony brings Playstation Vue to Dallas, Miami

Sony announced that its Playstation Vue service is now available in two additional cities, Dallas and Miami. Owners of the PS4 and PS3 models in the Dallas-Fort Worth and Miami-Fort Lauderdale areas can choose from three PlayStation Vue multichannel packages, starting at USD 49.99 per month. PlayStation Vue comes with a range of live local channels and cable channels, plus a cloud DVR service. In addition, Sony said it will add the channel Fox Soccer Plus later this summer, for USD 14.99 per month.

Sony has launched its online TV service Playstation Vue in the US. The service is initially available in Chicago, Philadelphia and New York City, for prices starting at USD 50 per month. Sony to start testing online TV service

Sony will start testing its online TV service in the US in the coming weeks. Andrew House, president of Sony Computer Entertainment, said that the company would start commercial operation of the service, called PlayStation Vue, within two weeks in New York, Chicago and Philadelphia, following invitation-only tests in those cities.
