Sony rises to 3rd place in German smartphone sales

Sony has overtaken Nokia to reach third place on the German smartphone market, according to Focus magazine, citing market research company Comscore. It said there are 3.4 million people in Germany with Sony smartphones but only 3.36 million with Nokia ones. Samsung remains the clear market leader with 17.8 million smartphone customers in the country. Apple is in second place, with 8.2 million iPhone customers. LG has 4.4 percent of the market and Huawei has 2.9 percent. Android accounts for 68.2 percent of the OS market share, up by 7 percentage points, and iOS has around 20 percent.
