Sony starts global AI division

Sony announced the establishment of Sony AI, a new division with offices in Japan, Europe and the US, to advance fundamental research and development of artificial intelligence. The unit will build on the company's existing assets, especially in imaging and sensing components, robotics and entertainment, while also working on long-term social issues, beyond Sony's business.
