South African ISPs to launch cheaper ADSL services

South African Internet service providers are preparing to launch a new, more affordable 1Mbps ADSL service, MyBroadband reported. The news follows an earlier announcement by fixed line operator Telkom Wholesale which said it launched two additional speed offerings as part of the existing Resell DSL product portfolio, namely 1Mbps and 8Mbps. Retail pricing for Telkom's 1Mbps and 8Mbps ADSL services have not been announced but wholesale prices (Ex VAT) are below ZAR50 and ZAR300 respectively.
