South Korea to boost 5G network bandwidth by 2018

Wednesday 18 January 2017 | 09:05 CET | News
South Korea plans to increase the bandwidth allocated for its 5G network by 2018 to meet the growing data traffic, Yonhap news agency reports citing a statement from the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning. The Ministry will secure the bandwidth up to 1,300 MHz and allocate the parts to the country's three mobile operators. "The ministry will form a team within this month to work on allocating 5G bandwidth and come up with the detailed plan," said Choi Young-hae, a ministry official in charge of the policy.
