Spain DTT reset could lead to blackout in 35% of buildings

Monday 17 November 2014 | 11:57 CET | News
At least 35 percent of buildings in Spain, some 300,000 in total, could end up without DTT due to the lack of time in which to complete the migration, according to Fecotel, the country's national federation of telecommunications. Fecotel and other trade bodies and broadcasters have previously expressed concern about the short time frame available to retune DTT aerials to comply with the country's new digital dividend plan. The process began on 26 October and needs to be completed by 31 December, i.e. a period of just over two months compared to the 12 months given in the previous migration.
