Spain launches Facebook data breach probe

Friday 6 April 2018 | 09:26 CET | News
Spain's data protection agency (AEPD) has become the latest national watchdog to launch an investigation into Facebook after the company revealed that up to 136,985 Spanish users many have been affected by the Cambridge Analytica data breach, reports EFE. Although only 44 Facebook users in Spain took part in the survey that passed user data on to Cambridge Analytica, the company could face a hefty fine for breaching Spanish data protection law.
