Spain to raise EUR 2 bln in digital dividend spectrum tender
The Spanish government has approved a royal decree for the launch of the digital dividend spectrum tender. The government hopes to complete the tender process by 1 August. According to Alfredo Perez Rubalcaba, first deputy prime minister within the Spanish government, the Ministry of Industry expects to raise up to EUR 2 billion from the auction. The 310 MHz of spectrum tol be auctioned was freed up as a result of the GSM frequency rearrangement and the analogue broadcasting switch-off (digital dividend).

Spanish mobile operators want earlier access to spectrum
