Yoigo secures 1800 MHz mobile spectrum
Spanish mobile operator Yoigo has secured more mobile spectrum in the auction held by the Spanish Ministry of Industry. Yoigo was the single bidder for the 1800 MHz frequency band. Yoigo pledged EUR 300 million investment over a three-year period, five times the 60 million minimum, in addition to the EUR 42 million licence fee.

Yoigo will not cut mobile charges

Spanish mobile operator Yoigo, a TeliaSonera subsidiary, will not reduce its mobile tariffs in the short to medium term, despite losing the leadership position in portability rankings, ADSL Zone reports, citing Per-Arne Blomquist,TeliaSonera's chief financial officer. Spanish regional cable operator TeleCable has won 10 MHz spectrum in the 2.6 GHz frequency band in the tender held by the Spanish Ministry of Industry. TeleCable offered EUR 708,317 for the 10 MHz spectrum. TeleCable plans to use the recently acquired spectrum to build its own fibre optic network across Spain's Asturias region. Telefonica wins 70 MHz spectrum for EUR 668 mln

Telefonica has won 5 blocks in the 800 MHz, 900 MHz and 2.6 GHz frequency bands in the spectrum tender held by the Spanish Ministry of Industry. Eleven operators have placed their bids in the tender for 270 MHz of spectrum in Spain. The bidders include Vodafone, Telefonica, Orange, Ono, Jazztel, Telecom Castilla la Mancha, R, Telecable de Asturias, Opnatel and Cota. Orange wins 900 MHz spectrum tender in Spain

Orange has won a block of 900 MHz bandwidth in the spectrum tender held by the Spanish Ministry of Industry, EFE reports. Orange was the sole bidder in the tender. Spanish mobile operators Orange and Yoigo have placed their bids to secure more mobile spectrum in an auction held by the Spanish government. Orange will not resell the spectrum it currently owns in Spain, Jean Marc Vignolles, head of France Telecom's Spanish operations, said in an interview with El Economista. Spain to raise EUR 2 bln in digital dividend spectrum tender

The Spanish government has approved a royal decree for the launch of the digital dividend spectrum tender. The government hopes to complete the tender process by 1 August. According to Alfredo Perez Rubalcaba, first deputy prime minister within the Spanish government, the Ministry of Industry expects to raise up to EUR 2 billion from the auction.
