Spain to refrain from Huawei veto in forthcoming 5G security law - report

Friday 18 December 2020 | 12:26 CET | News
The Spanish government is set to refrain from banning the use of Huawei's technology in the country's 5G mobile networks in the 5G Cybersecurity Law it expects to approve by summer 2021, according to unnamed sources cited by Europa Press. A preliminary draft of the law will be assessed in a public consultation that starts next week and runs until 14 January, said the report. One of the key clauses is a requirement that operators carry out a 5G risk analysis at least every two years and the government at least every six years.
