Spain's Adamo secures EUR 100 mln for rural fibre expansion

Friday 8 February 2019 | 14:08 CET | News
Spanish broadband provider Adamo has secured EUR 100 million in fresh funding from banks including ING, Santander and HCOB to accelerate the expansion of its FTTH service in the coming months. The company, now owned by Swedish private equity group EQT, said it intends to use the funds to bring fibre-optic services to over 1 million homes in digital divide areas by 31 December 2020, in line with the Spanish government's Rural Digital Agenda targets to connect 90 percent of localities with less than 5,000 inhabitants.
