Spain's digital divide narrowing but over 13% of rural areas still lack fixed broadband - study

A total of 13.4 percent of rural areas in Spain still have no fixed internet access offering speeds of at least 30 Mbps, according to data from the latest broadband coverage report published by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation and gathered by telecommunications services provider Eurona. Although the data reveals a significant advance in broadband penetration in previously underserved areas, the country has still failed to meet its aim of bringing high-speed broadband to 90 percent of inhabitants in digital divide areas by 01 January 2020, said Eurona, adding that
