Spain's economic ministry takes over telecommunications brief

The new Spanish government under socialist prime minister Pedro Sanchez has decided to switch the telecommunications brief from the Ministry of Energy, Tourism and the Digital Agenda to the Ministry of Economy and Business, reports Cinco Dias, citing a publications in the official state gazette. The new ministry will be headed by Nadia Calvino and will be tasked with carrying out the country's first 5G tender, scheduled for mid-July.
