Spain's KDPOF to demo 1Gbps plastic optical fibre at Broadband World Forum

Friday 12 October 2018 | 12:02 CET | News
Spanish chipset provider KDPOF has announced that it will be taking advantage of its appearance at the forthcoming Broadband World Forum in Berlin to showcase its gigabit transceivers over POF (Plastic Optical Fibre). The company's POF-based backbone can be used to increase Wi-Fi mesh connectivity to speeds of up to 1 Gbps throughout homes and offices, said KDPOF, adding that the cabling is also far easier and cheaper to install than glass fibre networks.
