Spanish digital piracy down for first time in 10 years

The number of illegal accesses to digital content in Spain decreased for the first time in ten years in 2016, falling 4.2 percent to 4.128 billion, according to a report on piracy conducted by GfK for the Coalition of Creators and the Spanish Football League. The total value of digital piracy also fell, by 3.2 percent year on year, to EUR 23.294 billion, although sectors such as music and e-books saw increases in the numbers of illegal downloads.
