Spanish DTT reset to begin on 26 October

Spain's industry ministry has issued a statement confirming that DTT consumers will need to begin retuning their aerials from 26 October to comply with the digital dividend plan to release the 800 MHz band for 4G deployment by 01 January 2015. Consumers will have to pay an average of EUR 150 per building and then claim back the money from a special platform created by the government. The DTT migration will cost around EUR 286 million and affect around 55 per cent of the population. However, trade bodies and broadcasters have expressed concern about the short time frame available for the DTT
