Spanish site given 7 days to stop streaming football

A mercantile court in the northern Spanish city of La Coruna has accepted a complaint from Spanish broadcaster Mediapro and ordered popular Spanish p2p link site Roja Directa to take down links to live football games by 05 December or face closure. The website, which now operates under the domain name rojadirecta.me, hosts numerous p2p links to major sporting events, including Spain's top tier football league La Liga, and has been accused of costing Spanish broadcasters over EUR 500 million per year through piracy of football streams. The court's ruling also applies to any parallel websites
