Spotify acquires media aggregator CrowdAlbum

Digital music streaming service Spotify has announced the acquisition of a US startup called CrowdAlbum to help artists monetise their audiences. Launched in 2013, CrowdAlbum aggregates photos and videos from artists' performances, collecting social posts and creating albums that give artists a visual history of their tours. CrowdAlbum has been working with over 1,000 artists and venue partners in the US, including renowned acts such as Diplo, Death Cab for Cutie, Lil Wayne, and Fallout Boy.
