Spotify adds 4 million paid subscribers in better-than-expected Q1

Spotify ended the first quarter with 158 million subscribers, 21 percent higher year-on-year and up by a slower 4 million from the end of December, compared to additions at 10 million in the previous quarter. The better-than-expected result was led by North America and boosted by campaigns and family deals. All regions contributed however, with double-digit growth. New market contributions were driven by South Korea.
