Spotify and Universal Music Group (UMG) entered into a new, multi-year global licence agreement. Under the agreement, the companies pledged they will provide more flexibility for new music streaming releases and collaborate on marketing campaigns across Spotify's platform. The deal confirms recent reports that Spotify will start offering paid subscribers exclusive access to some new releases. Universal artists will be able to release new albums on Spotify premium for two weeks, while only the singles are available on the free, ad-supported version of Spotify.
