Spotify has reached 60 million paid users, the company announced on its website. That's up from 50 million reported in March. In total, the streaming music service counts over 140 million users, including its ad-supported free service. The service is available in 60 markets and counts over 30 million songs available to users.
The announcement comes as rumours of an IPO by Spotify continue to circulate. According to the latest report from the Financial Times, the company could list on the New York Stock Exchange by the end of this year. It is considering a direct listing, where existing shares would become available for public trading, the paper's sources said.
