Sprint gives ok to possible broadband reclassification

Sprint would not mind if the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) reclassified the internet as a utility, the Wall Street Journal reported. The company made the statement after FCC chairman Tom Wheeler signaled he was planning to reclassify broadband as a public utility, technically known as a Title II Telecommunications Service. Such a reclassification would bring ISPs under greater regulatory oversight, something that public-interest groups have been advocating and internet providers have been resisting. Sprint CTO Stephen Bye wrote that the company did not believe that a "light touch"
