Sprint stops offering contracts to new phone customers

Tuesday 12 January 2016 | 22:14 CET | News
US mobile operator Sprint has stopped offering contracts to new phone customers, following in the footsteps of the country's other tier-one carriers, reports Android Central, citing a leaked internal document. The operator has stopped giving new customers the choice of buying a subsidised smartphone and signing a two-year contract. It will continue to offer contracts for tablets, the document states, and on a "reactive basis" on contracts for additional phone lines and upgrades.
