Sprint to sell new iPhone from mid-October - report
Sprint will begin selling the new version of the Apple iPhone in mid-October, people familiar with the matter told the Wall Street Journal. To date, only Verizon and AT&T have sold the iPhone in the US. These two are also expected to offer the new iPhone in October. Sprint will also carry the iPhone 4, starting at the same time, one of the paper's sources said.

Apple quarterly iPhone sales up 142% to 20.3 mln units

Apple reported revenues for its fiscal third quarter to 25 June of USD 28.57 billion, nearly double the USD 15.70 billion a year earlier. Net profit rose to USD 7.31 billion or USD 7.79 per diluted share, from USD 3.25 billion or USD 3.51 per share in the year-ago quarter.
