Similar to T-Mobile, Sprint is limiting the quality of streaming services, with video streams capped at 480p resolution, gaming up to 2 Mbps and music streams at up to 500 Kbps. Sprint said its own tests with consumers found that few noticed any difference from the lower bandwidth. Customers using over 23 GB of data in a month may also see their speeds temporarily reduced during times of network congestion.
In addition to Sprint's own 'Unlimited Freedom' offers, its prepaid brand Boost Mobile introduced 'Unlimited Unhook’d', offering unlimited calls, SMS and data for USD 50 per month. Additional lines on the Boost plan cost USD 30 a month, up to five total lines. Boost also offers the new Unlimited Starter plan, with unlimited calls, SMS and 1 GB of LTE data for USD 30 a month. Additional data costs USD 5 for 1 GB or USD 10 for 2 GB.
