To upgrade the video to HD, subscribers can pay another USD 25 per month. T-Mobile said it will also impose a fair-use policy. The same as on its other plans, the 3 percent of customers using the most data, currently over 26 GB per month, may see their connection throttled until the next billing month during times of high network demand or congestion.
The new T-Mobile One offer is also available as a family plan, with the second line at USD 50 a month and up to eight more at USD 20 per month with automatic billing. Without direct debit, customers pay an extra USD 5 per month. A tablet can also be added at USD 20 per month.
T-Mobile will still offer its Simple Choice plans as well, and the One plan includes the same extras such as 'roam like home' in Mexico and Canada, T-Mobile Tuesdays offers and compensation for the costs of switching from another operator.
T-Mobile said the new One offer is expected to result in increased customer loyalty. The financial impact was already included in the company's annual results guidance issued in July.
