Sri Lanka Telecom launches Xyntac wholesale brand
Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) has introduced its ‘Xyntac’ wholesale brand. The Xyntac unit will provide voice and data services as well as digital services. Xyntac will operate as a global business unit of SLT.

Xyntac will offer an IP backbone network and its services portfolio covers colocation, cloud and digital services. The Xyntac unit will support SLT’s plans to expand operations to new territories and emerging markets across the world.

Xyntac will provide services through investments in international submarine cable systems such as SEA-ME-WE 5, SEA-ME-WE 4, SEA-ME-WE 3, Bharat-Lanka, and Dhiraagu-SLT and inter-connected data centres. Xyntac also offers 24x7 expert engineering support. Xyntac International POPs are available in the US, Europe and Asia.

Sri Lanka Telecom launches Emoji competition

Sri Lanka Telecom has started a social media campaign, inviting SLT fans on Facebook and Instagram to explain the meaning of 'love', using the SLT brand and emoji representations. A committee selected the winner based on the creativity of the shared emoji. The winner, Indika Fernando, received a dinner at a 5-star hotel for two people. The top ten winners were eligible for a prize of 10GB for data traffic.

SLT launches 'CoderDojo @ SLT' coding clubs

Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) has launched the "CoderDojo @ SLT" coding clubs initiative on the local market. The programme will debut at the Welisara SLT Training Center and then expand to all SLT training centers and SLT Regional Offices. The programme started with practical sessions for school children aged 10 to 17, and will continue with 10 more sessions at Welisara. The project will be expanded to the SLT Regional Office in Peradeniya on 20 July.

Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) has signed a partnership agreement with Huawei Technologies Lanka.
