Thursday 22 March 2018 | 08:15 CET | News
Starbucks Coffee Korea, the local unit of US coffee giant, has announced that it will start a test run of cashless stores at three outlets in April, amid the increasing use of credit card and mobile payment systems. The service will initially be tested at stores in Gangnam and Guro in Seoul, and Pangyo, south of the capital. Testing of the new system is scheduled for launch on 23 April, Yonhap news agency reports, citing a company statement. This will be Starbucks' second trial of the system, following its first cashless store under test run in Seattle, the US.
