STMicro supplies chips for PulseOn wearable heart monitor

Finnish company PulseOn has selected tiny motion sensing and data processing chips from STMicroelectronics, for its wearable heart rate monitor, said STMicro. The wrist-worn device provides continuous heartbeat measurements without the need for a chest strap, and its algorithms transform the data into personalised feedback. ST's low-power MEMS accelerometer maintains the PulseOn heart rate measurement accuracy and reliability at the level delivered by an electrocardiogram The STM32L microcontroller makes sure everything functions reliably with minimal energy use.
