Streaming piracy causes EUR 700 mln in revenue losses in Germany annually - Vaunet

Some 1.9 million people in Germany illegally stream live TV programmes on a regular basis, depriving media companies of over EUR 430 million in revenues per year, according to new research from the consultancy Goldmedia on behalf of the German commercial broadcasters' association Vaunet. Revenue damages from illegal streams of live TV content amount to nearly EUR 700 million when all steps of the value-added chain are accounted for, while tax losses of EUR 170 million are another consequence of this practice, they found.
