Streaming platforms up to 75% of US music revenue in H1

US music industry revenues rose by 10 percent year on year to USD 4.6 billion in the first 6 months of 2018, with streaming services now accounting for around 75 percent, or EUR 3.4 billion of the total, according the annual report from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The premium subscription services of Spotify, Amazon, Tidal, Pandora, Apple Music and others accounted for three-quarters, or EUR 2.6 billion, of the streaming revenues and vastly outperformed ad-supported revenues (USD 369 million) despite far fewer users, said the report.
