Sub-Saharan Africa to add more than 16 mln pay-TV subscriptions by 2024

Sub-Saharan Africa is forecast to add more than 16 million pay-TV subscribers between 2018 and 2024, bringing the total to 45.63 million, according to Digital TV Research. Its 'Sub-Saharan Africa Pay TV Forecasts' report says subscriber numbers will climb by 61 percent over this period but pay-TV revenues will rise by only 42 percent, indicating lower ARPU. Pay-TV revenue will reach USD 7.72 billion by 2024, up by USD 2.3 billion on 2018.
