Subtel, Mundo Pacifico launch 13 free Wi-Fi hotspots in Cerro Navia

Chilean telecommunications regulator Subtel has announced the activation of 13 free Wi-Fi hotspots in the underserved Cerro Navia locality of the Santiago province as part of a public-private agreement with the company Mundo Pacifico. In a statement, Subtel said Cerro Navia qualifies as a so-called 'red connectivity zone' in view of a fixed internet penetration of just 22.7 percent compared to the national average of 49.8 percent.
