Sumicity adopts Padec optical solutions for DWDM network

Friday 9 February 2018 | 17:31 CET | News
Brazilian telecommunications services provider Sumicity is investing in expanding coverage of its DWDM networks in Southeast Brazil. With the expansion, the provider's optical backbone - which connects important metropolitan areas and the interior of the state of Rio de Janeiro - now reaches Espirito Santo, expanding the carrier's high-capacity footprint in the region.

According to Vicente Gomes, CEO of Sumicity, this expansion is in line with the company's goal of doubling the number of subscribers in 2018 to more than 100,000.

To illuminate the provider's new optical ring, Padtec has provided transponders, optical amplifiers and modern dual route protection systems for a total of 380 kilometers of optical networks.
