Sunrise CEO says 5G situation in Switzerland 'absurd'

Monday 14 September 2020 | 09:48 CET | News
The CEO of Sunrise, Andre Krause, said in an interview with SonntagsBlick that the current situation relating to 5G in the country is "scandalous".  The 5G auction took place in February 2019, but the state has not yet set up the framework to allow the operators to fully use the frequencies. Sunrise wanted to use the spectrum as quickly as possible, but cantons and municipalities complain about a lack of clarity on granting building permits. The CEO hopes that the discussion next week will give a "clear, quick timetable".
