Swedish authority passes Google location data case to Irish counterpart

The Swedish Data Inspection Authority said it is passing its case concerning Google to its Irish counterpart, after the US company declared that Ireland was its European operating base. In January, the Swedish authority began investigating whether the way that Google gathers and retains location data from Android phone users breached GDPR, following a complaint from Sveriges Konsumenter
