Swedish data authority probes use of facial recognition at school

The Swedish Data Inspection Authority said it is looking into the introduction of facial recognition at Anderstorp school in Skelleftea to see if this complies with GDPR. The school is using facial recognition as a means of taking the class register, to check whether or not pupils are attending lessons. In January, Tieto said it was running a facial recognition trial at Anderstorp school.
