Swedish energy body Ei says capacity challenges limit data centre development

Sweden's Energy Market Inspectorate (Ei) said it submitted a report to the government on 01 October concerning national electricity grid capacity challenges. One of the issues mentioned in the 193-page Ei report is expanding digitisation supported by data centres, with Sweden an attractive country for their location. Lack of power capacity limits or complicates the establishment of new server halls, especially around large cities, it said.
