Swedish operators start WyWallet m-payments service
The mobile payments service backed by Sweden's four mobile operators, WyWallet, has officialy started services. Based on Accumulate's mobile financial services platform Mobile Everywhere, WyWallet offers person-to-person money transfer, payment for SMS-based services such as public transport, ticketing and voting using the WyWallet mobile app, online shopping and prepaid top-ups. WyWallet also supports POS payments using NFC. Live tests in shops of the NFC service will start next week, with a commercial launch planned for 2013. Additional services will be added to WyWallet from the autumn. WyWallet is initially available as an app on Android, iPhone and Java devices, and after the summer will launch on Windows Phone. Customers of Telia, Tele2, Comviq, 3 Sweden, Halebop and Telenor can access the service.
