Swedish operators start WyWallet m-payments service

The mobile payments service backed by Sweden's four mobile operators, WyWallet, has officialy started services. Based on Accumulate's mobile financial services platform Mobile Everywhere, WyWallet offers person-to-person money transfer, payment for SMS-based services such as public transport, ticketing and voting using the WyWallet mobile app, online shopping and prepaid top-ups. WyWallet also supports POS payments using NFC. Live tests in shops of the NFC service will start next week, with a commercial launch planned for 2013. Additional services will be added to WyWallet from the autumn.
