Swiss regulator opens proceedings against five regional TV broadcasters

The Swiss Federal Office of Communications (OFCOM) has opened a proceeding against five broadcasters suspected of giving insufficient airtime to regionally relevant information, Keystone-SDA news agency reports. Swiss commercial TV broadcasters with a licence must show at least 150 minutes of relevant regional information per week during prime time. Commercial TV broadcasters are also obliged to offer ten minutes of relevant regional information in news programmes on working days during prime time.
