Swiss retail has great potential for mobile payments

Friday 14 July 2017 | 10:43 CET | News
According to a survey by Deloitte, the Swiss retail sector may rely on the growing trend for mobile payments and use of mobile phones at self-checkout machines, reported CEToday. Based on the survey, 42 percent already use self-checkout machines and 65 percent want to use them in future. This would mean a 50 percent growth. Mobile payments in retail could boost revenues, as 30 percent of consumers expect to increase their spending when paying by mobile phone or smartwatch.
