Swisscom deploys HPE virtualised headend manager

Hewlett Packard Enterprise has announced that Swisscom has chosen to replace its legacy appliances and hardware, running part of its TV network, with HPE software-based virtualised headend product. By virtualising the Headend Manager, which processes live TV signals for distribution to Swisscom's IPTV and OTT TV networks, Swisscom becomes one of the first CSPs to transition from legacy broadcasting appliances to software-based IT infrastructure running on off-the-shelf IT hardware.
