Swisscom expects to win next football rights deal

Swisscom expects to win the pay-TV rights for the Swiss football league for the new period 2017-18 to 2020-21, in cooperation with its partner Cinetrade. Swisscom CEO Urs Schaeppi said in an interview with Finanz und Wirtschaft that the company was pleased with the proposed contract. He declined to provide further details as negotiations on the details of the contract are still underway. Switzerland's cable and fibre operators said earlier this year that they were planning to unite to bid for top sports rights.
