Swisscom uses Oracle Communications SBC

Tuesday 28 April 2015 | 10:48 CET | News
Swisscom sells, plans and operates Oracle Communications Session Border Controller (Acme Packet 3820 und 4600) – tools that create a link between the customers' own Unified Communication Networks of Microsoft Lync or Alcatel and Swisscom's secure IP network - in a managed-service environment. By the end of 2017, Swisscom wants to switch all TDM-based connections to the IP technology. SBC also offers further security functions; the hardware-based SBC function as data firewalls and protect the company's infrastructure from external attacks but they are specialised on voice telephony.
