Switzerland 2nd only to Malta in EU for broadband provision

Swiss fibre operators' association Glasfasernetz Schweiz said Switzerland is among leading nations as far as broadband coverage is concerned, citing the IHS Study 'Broadband Coverage in Europe 2014: Coverage in Switzerland'. The report was drawn up on behalf of the European Commission and of Glasfasernetz Schweiz. It said 99 percent of the Swiss population already has internet service at a minimum of 30 Mbps. Only Malta has better coverage, it said, and the EU average is 68 percent.
