Switzerland and US strike data exchange deal

Switzerland has reached an agreement with the US government on personal data protections which mirrors a deal the US signed last year with the EU. Under the recently negotiated Swiss-US Privacy Shield agreement, the US agreed to the same principles as in its agreement with the EU last August, according to a report in Reuters. As such, the US has agreed to limit its collection of and access to Europeans' data stored on US servers.
