Switzerland leads DACH region for internet speeds - Akamai

Germany has lost two places in the quarterly Akamai internet speed rankings with an average speed of 8.9 Mbps, ending the second quarter as 28th in the global ranking. Germany is also number 15 in the EMEA ranking despite a 23 percent growth in average speed compared with Q2 2013. Switzerland has an average speed of 14.9 Mbps, growing 35 percent year-on-year and staying first in the EMEA region and dropping to third worldwide as HongKong passed to become second behind South Korea. Austria had a 10.4 Mbps average broadband speed, growing 22 percent year-on-year and was number 20 worldwide and
