Symantec quarterly sales fall 3%

Symantec reported revenue for its fiscal first quarter to June down 3 percent year-on-year to USD 884 million. Net profit improved 15 percent to USD 135 million, and adjusted EPS was up 12 percent to USD 0.29. Symantec said revenue was above the mid-point of its guided range for Q1, driven by improved performance within Enterprise Security and continued in-line results from Consumer Security. The company also completed its acquisition of Blue Coat acquisition, with an expected USD 550 million in synergies from the deal by 2018. For fiscal Q2, Symantec forecast annual revenue growth of 4-8
